1. Who we are

PopupVanish (“we”, “us”) provides a free Chrome extension that dismisses cookie banners and similar overlays on the websites you visit. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with information, and applies to both the extension and the website at popupvanish.com.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect personal data. Specifically, the extension does not collect or transmit:

• your browsing history, the URLs you visit or the content of pages;
• your name, email address or any account identifiers — there are no accounts;
• IP addresses, device identifiers or advertising identifiers;
• analytics, telemetry or usage statistics of any kind.

3. How the extension works with page data

To dismiss an overlay, the extension must look at the structure of the page you are on. This inspection happens locally, in your browser, in real time. Nothing that it reads is copied, stored or sent to us or to any third party. When you close the tab, nothing remains.

4. Local settings

If you pause the extension on a particular website, that preference is saved in your browser's local extension storage so it survives a restart. It stays on your device. You can erase it at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage through Chrome's extension settings.

5. Permissions we request

Chrome requires an extension to declare the permissions it needs. PopupVanish requests access to the pages you visit solely in order to detect and dismiss overlays on them. It does not use that access for any other purpose.

6. Third parties

The extension contains no third-party trackers, advertising SDKs or analytics libraries. We do not sell or share data with anyone, because we do not hold any. Note that the Chrome Web Store, operated by Google, processes installation and review data under its own policies when you install the extension.

7. This website

popupvanish.com is a static website. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, whose servers may log a standard request when your browser fetches them. Our hosting provider may keep basic server logs for security and reliability, in line with normal industry practice.

8. Children

PopupVanish is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. As no information is collected from anyone, this is a matter of policy rather than of data handling.

9. Your rights

Data-protection laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Removing the extension removes everything it kept on your device.

10. Changes to this policy

If the extension's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
